Do my screenshots get uploaded anywhere?

No. In the default on-device mode your pictures never leave your device — there is nothing to upload and nothing sitting on our servers. Only the words we read out of them are used to name and fill your folders. Syncing across devices exists if you want it, and it's off until you turn it on.

Can it handle 25,000 screenshots?

Yes — that's the size it was built for. It works through your library steadily and saves progress as it goes, so you can close the tab at any point, come back tomorrow, and it carries on from exactly where it stopped. No re-doing work, no all-or-nothing session.

How does it know what a screenshot is about?

Accepted Answer

It reads the words in the picture, the same way you would. A boarding pass, a recipe, a receipt, a group chat — each one reads differently, and that's enough to file it correctly. The result is folders named the way you'd have named them, without you naming anything.

What if it puts something in the wrong folder?

Accepted Answer

Anything it isn't sure about goes to a Needs review folder rather than being guessed into the wrong place — a wrong folder is worse than no folder. Everything can be moved afterwards, and you can move thousands at once instead of one at a time.

Can it delete screenshots off my phone or disk?

Screenshots you've added into ScreenSort are deleted for real. Files we read straight from a folder on your computer get gathered into a single _ScreenSort_Delete folder, so you empty one folder once instead of clicking through thousands. We'd rather be straight with you than pretend a website can reach into your hard drive.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes, as a companion. Phones don't let any website read the whole camera roll — that's a good thing for your privacy — so on mobile you choose screenshots yourself. A computer is where you hand over an entire folder in one go and let it run.

Which browsers does it work in?

Any modern browser. In Chrome, Edge, and Arc you can connect a folder once and it's remembered, so every future visit is a single click. Safari and Firefox work too — you add screenshots directly instead. Either way everything stays on your device.

Reading your screenshots is free, because it happens on your own device rather than on a server we have to pay for. Most screenshots are sorted before any AI is involved at all, so even a 25,000-image library costs a fraction of what you'd expect — and you're never paying to store pictures you already own.
